A note on this house
The Main Lodge is the largest of the five buildings at Moofy and the one most often taken in full. Seventeen-thousand square feet, twenty-five bedrooms, and fifteen rooms that face the Chesapeake — it is, in every sense, the building around which a stay is composed.
Inside, a private chef's kitchen opens to a long dining room of its own; beyond that, a great room with working and gas fireplaces, and a full bar and saloon for evenings that don't quite want to end. Every room has its own bathroom. Every gathering finds its place.
For weddings, family reunions, and milestone celebrations, the Main Lodge sleeps the entire party under a single roof. For corporate retreats, it is among the only properties on the Eastern Shore capable of holding fifty colleagues without anyone making the drive to a second hotel.

Comfortably, the Main Lodge sleeps fifty-four across its twenty-five bedrooms, with options for additional rollaway beds. For groups beyond that, we add the Brick House or Garden Cottage next door.
Yes. The Main Lodge can be reserved as a stand-alone stay or combined with any of the four neighboring buildings to bring the full estate up to forty-one bedrooms.
Both. Guests are welcome to use the chef's kitchen during their stay, and we are equally happy to arrange a private chef for any portion of the visit.
For weddings we partner with the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum nearby. The Main Lodge typically serves as the welcome party, ceremony-eve dinner, and the morning-after brunch — all on property — with the wedding itself a short drive away on the water.
Yes. All twenty-five rooms have heat and air-conditioning, and the working fireplace gives the great room a distinctive character through Eastern Shore winters.
