Getting Here

6670 Cedar Cove Road, Royal Oak, Maryland — on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake, between St. Michaels and Oxford.

The estate is reached most easily by car. The closest major airport is Baltimore-Washington International (BWI). Reagan National (DCA) is a touch further. Philadelphia (PHL) is the third option, and a few guests arrive by boat directly to our pier.

By Car

Across the Bay Bridge

From Annapolis, the William P. Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge crosses the Chesapeake. From its eastern terminus, Easton is forty minutes south, and Royal Oak ten minutes further. Avoid summer Friday afternoons if you can — the bridge thickens.

Parking is plentiful on the property. Car services and airport transfers are arranged on request — black-car from BWI or DCA runs about $200 one-way.

Asked Frequently

The small particulars

Can we book just one of the houses, or do we need to take the whole estate?

Both. Individual houses can be reserved for smaller stays. Larger gatherings — weddings, retreats, family reunions — typically take the whole estate for full exclusivity. Inquiries with dates will let us advise.

What is the minimum stay?

Two nights for individual houses; three nights when reserving the whole estate. Some weekends and seasonal periods may carry longer minimums — we'll confirm at inquiry.

Are pets allowed?

We accommodate well-behaved dogs in select houses on request. There is a per-stay pet fee, and we ask for advance notice. Please mention pets when you inquire.

Is the estate accessible for guests with mobility considerations?

The Main Lodge and ground floors of most houses are accessible. The waterfront and pier are reached over gentle paths. Some upper-floor bedrooms are accessed only by stairs. Tell us about any specific needs and we will arrange a room plan that works.

What's the best time of year to come?

Late May through October is high season — warmest water, crabbing in full swing, and long days. April and November are quieter and beautiful. The estate operates year-round; winter brings fireplaces, snow on the lawns, and a peace that's hard to find elsewhere.

Is there cellular service and Wi-Fi?

Yes — high-speed Wi-Fi throughout every building, and reliable cell coverage on most carriers across the property.

What about events — can we host a wedding or party on-site?

Weddings are held in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum next door. Smaller celebrations, corporate retreats, and after-parties can be hosted on the estate itself, with subject-to-policy guest count rules. See our Gather pages.

What's included with the stay?

Exclusive use of the houses you've reserved, all on-property amenities (kayaks, pool, courts, library, art barn, ice-cream parlor, garden access), and basic welcome stocking. Private chef dining, programmed experiences, and additional services are arranged separately.
