MOOFY

Moofy's Farmhouse

Questions, answered

The things guests ask most. Anything else, book twenty minutes with Angelina or send a note.

Activities

What is there to do?

Kayaks, the pool, tennis and pickleball, the art barn, crabbing, the pier and firepit, and morning egg-gathering with the hens. Sailing charters, painting, and in winter oyster roasts and guided duck hunting can be arranged.

Booking & pricing

How does pricing work?

It depends on the dates, the number of nights, the houses, and the level of service. Angelina sends an itemized estimate, usually the same day as the inquiry.

How do payment and deposits work?

A signed agreement and a fifty percent deposit hold the dates. The balance is due fourteen days before arrival, and plans stay flexible up to then.

How far ahead should we book?

Most weekends book six to twelve months out, though shorter-notice openings come up. The quickest way to know is to ask.

What's included in the stay?

Exclusive use of the houses you reserve and everything on the property: kayaks, pool, courts, library, art barn, ice-cream parlor, gardens, plus welcome coffee and Wi-Fi. Meals, a private chef, and staffed experiences are separate and itemized.

Food

Are meals included? Can we cook?

The estate's chef partner can cook any or all meals, built around allergies and dietary needs from the first call. You can also cook in the kitchens yourselves or bring your own chef.

Getting here

Where is Moofy's and how do we get there?

6670 Cedar Cove Road, Royal Oak, Maryland, on the Chesapeake. About ninety minutes by car from Washington and Annapolis, fourteen minutes from St. Michaels. The team can coordinate transport from BWI or Reagan National. Parking is on the property.

Policies

Are dogs allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in some houses with advance notice and a pet fee.

Is the estate accessible?

The Main Lodge and the ground floors of most houses are accessible, and the waterfront is reached on gentle paths. Some bedrooms are upstairs only; tell us about any needs and we'll plan rooms around them.

Is there Wi-Fi and cell service?

Yes. Fast Wi-Fi in every building and reliable cell coverage on most carriers.

What if the weather turns?

Every planned activity has an indoor or covered backup, so nothing falls through if a storm comes off the bay.

Retreats

Is it set up for company retreats?

Yes. There's a conference room with two screens and video-conferencing, fast Wi-Fi everywhere, the great room for breakouts, and room for the whole team to stay on the property.

Staying at Moofy's

How many people can Moofy's sleep?

Forty-one bedrooms across five buildings. Groups usually run from about twelve to eighty people; smaller groups can take a single house.

Do we have to take the whole estate?

No. Houses can be booked on their own for smaller groups, or together; larger gatherings usually take the Main Lodge, often with the Brick House. Every estimate names the houses and nights.

Will we share the property with another group?

No. Moofy's hosts one group at a time.

What is the minimum stay?

Usually two nights for a single house and three nights for the whole estate. Some weekends and holidays need longer. One-night stays are rare and mid-week only.

Do we get to choose our rooms?

Yes. You get a property map with your arrival packet and your group decides who sleeps where.

What's the best time of year to come?

Late May through October is peak season: warm water, crabbing, long days. April and November are quieter and beautiful. The estate is open all year; winter brings fireplaces and real quiet.

Is the estate open and heated in winter?

Yes. All five buildings are heated, the great-room fires stay lit, and the barn is heated too.

The houses

What are the five buildings?

The Main Lodge (25 bedrooms, sleeps about 54), the Brick House (8 bedrooms, sleeps about 18), the Garden Cottage (4 bedrooms, sleeps about 10), Point Cottage (3 bedrooms and a loft, sleeps about 8), and the Pilot House (1 bedroom, only as an add-on).

Which house is best for families with young children?

The Garden Cottage: a bunk room, a crib on request, a full kitchen, and the gardens and hens right outside.

Can the Main Lodge be booked on its own?

Yes, on its own or with any of the other houses, up to the full forty-one bedrooms.

Weddings & events

Can we have a wedding at Moofy's?

Moofy's hosts intimate weddings and celebrations, and works with the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum nearby for ceremonies and larger receptions, with the estate as home base for the welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and morning-after brunch. The estate isn't a venue for large parties.

Can we bring our own vendors?

Yes: planners, florists, photographers, DJs. There's also a list of trusted local partners if you'd like introductions.
